Shoot To Thrill, A AC/DC Tribute Band at Union Jack Rio, Gaithersburg Maryland

What a awesome show, the all female band played for over 2 hours with around 23 or 24 songs on their set list. Union Jacks Rio is a great venue / club sitting right next to a lake. It has a good menu and bar. I had the chance to photograph the show in it’s entirety from the front area of the stage and the stage. Using the Nikon D850 Body, with a Tamron 70-200 F 2.8 and a Tamron 28-75 F2.8.

About Shoot To Thrill: Bio taken from the Shoot To Thrill Website

Shoot To Thrill includes Kara (vocals), Susan (guitar), Jai (bass), Wendy (guitar) and Kate (drums). Not only are the girls professional musicians with impeccable skills, they are also quite easy on the eyes and full of energy for an entertaining stage show!

The girls decided on AC/DC in particular, because the band’s songs are a marriage of compelling music and creative story-telling. The guitar work is intricate yet not overplayed, while the rhythms are driving and dynamic. The silence is as important as the noise, and the lyrics are relatable and captivating. You just HAVE to sing along….or air-guitar….or BOTH!

They decided to do a full tribute rather than a cover band, because a tribute is much more challenging. You play many songs by the same artist and really reach inside that artist copying not only their playing style but also their signature stage moves. It’s really quite an art and very rewarding when you make it all come together.

Shoot To Thrill is based out of Raleigh, NC and tours all along the East Coast. The girls look forward to meeting you and rocking you into an unbelievable frenzy of good times!

About Kashmir: Bio taken from the Kashmir Website

It’s All About the Experience!!!!!

Kashmir, The Live Led Zeppelin Show was created by vocalist Jean Violet back in 2000. It has grown from the streets of New York City to now being one of the top Led Zeppelin Tribute bands touring nationally and internationally. Kashmir’s primary focus is capturing the live performance and raw energy of a Led Zeppelin show.

Time and time again audience members who meet and greet with Kashmir after a show tell them how they felt as if they went back in time to a Led Zeppelin concert that they attended or how younger members of the audience will tell the band how it was the closest experience that they will ever get to a Live Led Zeppelin performance.

Kashmir, The Looks and Feel:

Yes the singer looks and sounds alot like Robert Plant and the band shares the authenticity, appearance and sound of the great Led Zeppelin but more importantly the band wants to share the energy and the experience that Led Zeppelin created while on tour. The band calls it “The Zone” and they want everyone to share that same electromagnetic experience after leaving a Kashmir show like so many Zep fans did in the past while watching the great Led Zeppelin on stage! Band Members are Jean Violet (vocals) Andy Urban (lead guitarist) Felix Hanemann (bass guitarist) Paul Cooper (drummer).
